Crispy Orange Chicken

Hey everyone! Today I'm sharing the Crispiest Orange Chicken recipe EVER!!! The chicken is sweet, spicy, crunchy and juicy. 🤤 What more could you want in this delicious orange chicken?



Serving Size: 4-6 people


Chicken

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups Flour

1/2 cup Cornstarch

1 tsp White Pepper

2 tsp Salt

1 Egg

1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil

Water as needed

8 Chicken Thighs; cubed


Sauce

Ingredients

1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil

Chilli Flakes to taste

2 tsp Ginger; minced

2-3 cloves Garlic; minced

3 Tbsp Brown Sugar

2 Tbsp Orange Juice

2 Tbsp Cornstarch

2 Tbsp Water; warm

2 Tbsp White Vinegar

2 Tbsp Soy Sauce


Steps

Begin by combing the flour, cornstarch, white pepper, salt, egg and vegetable oil to a large bowl. Slowly add water to the mixture until it reaches the consistency of pancake batter.

Add in the cubed chicken, coating every piece well with the batter. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Add the vegetable oil, chilli flakes, ginger and garlic to a pan and fry 2-3 minutes.

Add the brown sugar and orange juice.

Combine the cornstarch and water in a small bowl.

Add the white vinegar, soy sauce and water-cornstarch mixture to the pan and stir until it thickens.

Fry the battered chicken in a pot of hot vegetable oil for 6 minutes, until golden brown.

Drain the excess oil and add the chicken to the sauce. Ensure that each piece is fully coated in sauce.

Serve with parsley or spring onions and enjoy!
